OUR HISTORY

The Mavris is a unique event space that promises to exceed your expectations. Built in 1883, its life includes a grocery distribution terminal for Indianapolis later to become a plumbing warehouse. On June 30, 1999, John Mavris purchased the building and began its rebirth to its original condition. PRICING AND PLANNING YOUR EVENT

Pricing your event can be somewhat confusing and intimidating. A good tip before shopping for a venue is to establish a budget for the facility and food. On average, events of 100-250 guests will require a total budget of $16,000 - $22,000*. Mavris does not publish our fees because of various factors that could affect your overall cost. We are willing to review your event and create a budget that suits your personal needs. Give us an opportunity to show you our facility and discuss your event details. 1. Do I really need to have such a large guest list?

We found that many couples invite many of their guests because there seems to be an obligation. If you feel you have to invite someone because you are obligated, you might find out that they feel the same way. They may not mind being omitted.

2. Would anyone come to my wedding if I were to hold it on a weekday other than Friday?

This is what you may find surprising. We have reserved over 35 weekday weddings since we began our program 12 months ago.

We found that many people go out for a cocktail on a Wednesday and Thursday. Why not come to your wedding?

3. Are there savings?

Indeed! The easiest way to answer this is thousands.

FRIDAY WEDDINGSWhy Friday Weddings Are No Longer a Small TrendYour wedding day may be one of the most important events of your life. After scheduling 40 Friday weddings in 2007 , 38 in 2008 and 45 in 2009, and 31 for 2010; we asked Friday Brides what was the attraction. Before the wedding, this is what they said;I was against it I didn't want to inconvenience my out of town guests No one gets married on Friday

Then for many reasons a trend began. After hosting so many Friday weddings we thought we would ask the Friday wedding couples what they thought. Here is what they are saying;

So many of the guests who really didn't want to attend had a reason to opt out.

We saved several thousand dollars from the regrets from guests who we knew were indifferent about attending.

Our guests' Saturday was freed up.

We had Saturday to rest up. (recover in some cases)

We hosted a gift opening party on Saturday.

We were able to spend intimate time with some really close friends before we departed for our honeymoon.

Page 2We truly do not even know where to begin with regards to expressing our sincere appreciation for your services at our wedding. We loved our reception more than we thought was possible! Three months after the wedding, we are still hearing numerous compliments about how magnificent our reception was. Everyone says that Mavris made the evening, and that is the truth. Our evening was magical and your space looked so beautiful, we were overwhelmed. Of course we had seen pictures of past events, but you went above and beyond for us. Several couples that came to our wedding who are engaged expressed interest in having their reception at your place. I have to say I am not surprised by their enthusiasm. I can honestly say that a large part of my excitement was that we were going to have the best celebration possible and that people would remember it fondly because it would be so unique. We cannot say enough about how great your place is. You did not miss a single detail, and we were able to relax and enjoy the evening because we knew you had everything covered.
