What is your hometown?
My hometown is the lovely Boonville, Indiana—a small yet enchanting farming community located in the picturesque landscapes of southwest Indiana, just a stone’s throw away from the vibrant city of Evansville.
What is your favorite part about planning events?
My favorite aspect of planning events is the multifaceted nature of the process. From intricately managing logistics to collaborating closely with clients to manifest their unique visions, each step brings its own sense of fulfillment. However, what truly resonates with me is the unparalleled satisfaction that comes when an event seamlessly unfolds, often after months or even years of meticulous planning. This sense of accomplishment is what drives my passion for event planning.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I attended IUPUI, where I pursued a comprehensive education in the field of tourism, conventions, and event management within the School of Physical Education and Tourism Management. This program equipped me with valuable knowledge and skills to excel in the dynamic world of planning and orchestrating memorable events and experiences.
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
In my free time, I find immense joy in a diverse range of activities. Spending cherished moments with family and friends, venturing out to explore new corners of the world, cheering on my stepdaughter during her sports games, and hosting gatherings at my home are all integral parts of what makes my time away from work so special. Each of these activities holds a unique place in my heart, reflecting my passion for meaningful connections, adventure, and creating memorable experiences.
What is something you love about working at Mavris?
At Mavris, what I truly cherish is the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated event design professionals, empowering them to unleash their full potential. Collaborating within a close-knit group that feels like family, we’re able to infuse the passion we share into every project, making work a delightful journey. The blend of leadership, camaraderie, and historical context makes working at Mavris an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience.
What is the key to a great event?
The key to a great event lies in the art of crafting a seamless experience that appears effortless to attendees. Behind the scenes, meticulous planning, attention to detail, and strategic execution come together to create an environment where every element flows harmoniously. This results in an event that not only meets, but exceeds expectations, leaving participants with lasting memories of a flawlessly orchestrated occasion.
